Become part of the Kamloops Sports Council
Become a Volunteer
Be entered to win great prizes with the Tournament Capital Volunteer Program! This program is a Sports Council initiative aimed at providing recognition to the many volunteers who contribute so much to our community throughout the year. Volunteers are entered into the draw to win 1 of 4 great prizes! For every shift worked volunteers get one entry into the draw. In order to be eligible all you have to do is volunteer at an event that the Kamloops Sports Council manages the volunteers for, it’s that easy!
Upcoming events include the 2021 Bent Horn Games, the 2021 Dragon Boat Festival, and the 2022 Canada 55+Games just to name a few!
People choose to volunteer for a wide variety of reasons. For some it offers the chance to give something back to the community or make a difference to the people around them. For others it provides an opportunity to develop new skills or build on existing experience and knowledge. Regardless of the motivation, you will find it rewarding!

Putting the spotlight on Sport Volunteers!
It takes more than athletes and a world class venue to host a successful sporting event in Canada’s Tournament Capital. It also requires a dedicated crew of sport volunteers. Volunteers are the “can do-ers” who make things happen, ambassadors for our city, and an invaluable legacy of every event.
The contribution of sport volunteers is vital to the continued success of the sporting events in the Tournament Capital.
So to recognize and celebrate sport volunteers, the Kamloops Sport Council has created the Tournament Capital Volunteer program. The goal of the program is to create a community of sport volunteers filled with pride, achievement, and spirit. Through a program of recognition and reward, the Tournament Capital Volunteer program will help to maintain a strong and committed crew of volunteers.
“Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart.”
