Rugby

Paddy Harrington

Year of Induction: 2019

Paddy Harrington joined the Kamloops Rugby Club in 1977, 9 years after the club initiated in 1968. The KRC gladly welcomed Paddy with his energy and expertise. Paddy spent 43 years with the club and was an asset in every aspect. He was in a variety of roles from playing and coaching to the administration within. Paddy continuously demonstrated pride when talking about the club members who worked closely as a team to achieve the goals that the club set.

Volunteerism

Tony Parker

Year of Induction: 2019

Sportswriter, Tony Parker, has devoted a lifetime of volunteer work in the community.  Parker takes pride in his involvement in so many different sports.  He has a diverse appreciation for competitors of all ages and having the opportunity to write stories of them for the public.  His volunteer work includes high school football/basketball, Jr. Broncos football, the Overlander Cross Country Ski Club, major men’s fastball, soccer, minor baseball, and many more.  Parker took pride in bringing many sports to light, raising the media bar, and helping to establish coverage for many groups.

Track & Field

Ted Pierson

Year of Induction: 2019

Ted Pierson passed away after he competed in the World Senior Games in Kamloops in 2000.  Ted was celebrating his 70th year in track and field leading up to his passing. Pierson won 9 gold medals in the BC Games, and won gold in the javelin and shot-put events in the Canadian Championships. It was not about winning the medals, but that he truly loved the sport. He is now the 5th individual from the Kamloops Track & Field Club to be elected to the hall. Pierson will be fondly remembered for his contributions.

Earl Sietz

Year of Induction: 2019

Seitz` passion for sports has made an indelible mark on the Kamloops sports scene with CFJC TV and the Jim Pattison Group affiliates. His commitment to all things local has provided his support and expertise to a multitude of events such as the Canada Games, Blazers Memorial Cup, Briers, World Curling, and World Kick Boxing title fights. The list continues and is very impressive. He is highly regarded for his professionalism experience and dedication.

The Kamloops Rugby Club

Year of Induction: 2019

The Kamloops Rugby Club has been very successful over the years.  They have had over six hundred senior members and another six hundred junior members during its history.  Players have suited up for Canadian teams and others for BC provincial teams.  The Kamloops Rugby Club has won six BC Rugby Union titles as well as hosted close to 40 international touring teams in its 50-year history.
