Glenn Armstrong

Year of Induction: 2026

In 1976, Glenn transferred to Dallas Elementary in Kamloops, coaching the school basketball team, and subsequently began coaching the Sahali Rams and Dallas Cowboys in minor football. Glenn expanded his career in 1985 and tackled coaching Valleyview football team. His accomplishments at this time included, leading the Senior Vikings to a city championship, 1988, he coached the NorKam Secondary Saints all the way to the Provincial finals at BC Place Stadium, 1995. After retiring from teaching Glenn coached the Kamloops Broncos running backs for the 2008 season.

Kamloops Sports Legacy Fund

Year of Induction: 2026

The Kamloops Sports Legacy Fund is a perpetual, community-based endowment established from the $6.1 million 2007 sale of the Kamloops Blazers Hockey Club and a $1.4 million contribution from the dissolution of the Blazers Foundation, designed to reinvest proceeds into local sport organizations across Kamloops and the surrounding region.

Since beginning grant allocations in 2009, the Fund has allocated over $6.1 million to 134 organizations, supporting equipment purchases, capital projects, coaching development, athlete scholarships, and accessibility initiatives that strengthen organizational capacity and expand participation opportunities. This amount represents the investment of the original funding from the sale while fully retaining the capital over the seventeen years.

Jessica Hewitt

Year of Induction: 2026

Jessica loved speed skating from the first time she stepped on the ice with the Kamloops Long Blades Speed Skating Club. Over her career Jessica earned many accolades in major international competitions including the World    Championships and the World Cup where Jessica earned one Gold Medal, four Silver Medals and eight Bronze     Medals. Her career highlight was competing in two events during the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics and earned a Silver Medal in the 3000m relay event.

1980 Kamloops Turbulence

Year of Induction: 2026

The Kamloops Turbulence senior women’s volleyball team, coached by Rocky Hudson and Jim Bottoms, secured the BC Volleyball Association Provincial Championships in 1980, marking a high point for the sport in the Thompson-Okanagan region. As BC Champions, Kamloops Turbulence earned the right to represent the Province at the Western Canadian Championships, and were known for their disciplined play and competitive tenacity. They won the title going undefeated in Edmonton before winning the Can-Am Pacific Northwest Volleyball Tournament 6-0 in Vancouver.

Kelly Hunter

Year of Induction: 2026

Kelly began umpiring in Kamloops in 1990 after an umpire challenged her to “come to a clinic if you think you can do better.” Kelly achieved international certification in 2001, becoming the first Women in Western Canada to obtain International status. Kelly achieved an historic selection as only the second British Columbian to umpire at the Olympic Games at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. Kelly shone on the world stage, highlighted by her role as the plate umpire for a no-hitter between China and Japan and ultimately being assigned to third base for the Gold Medal game.
